Useful, but not required
You can call with nothing in hand. A few things do speed up the answer, though: a picture of what you are seeing (a stain on the ceiling, shingles lying in the grass, a branch on the roof), a rough idea of the roof's age, and whether your insurance company has already been told.
After you get in touch
We agree on a visit time, normally within a day and sooner when a storm has just passed. The roofer checks the roof and the attic, then leaves you photos and an itemized price in writing that holds for 30 days. You owe no deposit until you have signed off on that estimate and the job has a date.
Is water getting inside as you read this? Use the word "emergency" on the call. A tarp goes on tonight, and the lasting repair is worked out once it is light.
